How to Access Windows Experience Index (WEI) in Windows 11

To gauge the performance of your Windows PC, running the Windows Experience Index (WEI) can be beneficial — note that WEI is no longer actively featured in newer Windows versions, but you can still check the system performance score using PowerShell.
For those unfamiliar, this tool assesses various hardware components (CPU, RAM, graphics card, and hard drive) and rates them on a scale from 1.0 to 9.9. Here’s how you can execute this tool via PowerShell:

Once completed, the WEI score and related details, as shown in the image above, will be displayed.
The Windows Experience Index evaluates overall PC performance using the WinSPRLevel score. This score is derived from individual hardware ratings, including the CPU, memory, graphics card, and hard drive.
A higher WEI score indicates that your PC is better equipped to handle demanding tasks such as gaming, video editing, or running multiple programs simultaneously. For instance, a high graphics score suggests smoother visuals in games and other graphics-intensive applications.
However, it’s essential to remember that the WEI score is just one factor in assessing overall PC performance. Other aspects, such as software optimization, system maintenance, and the specific tasks you regularly perform, also play crucial roles.
With WEI, you can gain detailed insights into your computer’s hardware performance and ensure it meets your needs. For more specific metrics or advanced performance diagnostics, consider using third-party system analysis tools or benchmarking software.
