In Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 24H2, Microsoft is introducing a new experience for the profile icon in the Start Menu by displaying notifications related to their Microsoft account.
Although these notifications or menus will appear for users who have logged in with their Microsoft account, local account users will also receive similar notifications. Users may even see up to four distinct messages, including “Sign in to your Microsoft account,” “Use Microsoft 365 for free,” “Keep your account safer,” and “Access your files from anywhere” , which essentially encourage you to switch to a Microsoft account.
If you’re not interested in these notifications as they feel like advertisements, you can easily disable them by following these steps.
Step 1. First, navigate to Settings > Personalization > Start.
Step 2. Next, toggle off the option “Show account-related notifications“.
Once done, you will no longer receive Microsoft account-related notifications on the profile icon in the Windows 11 Start Menu. However, note that if you are logged into a Microsoft account, the above steps will not remove shortcuts related to your Microsoft account, as shown in the following image.
With the above steps, all notifications related to your account will no longer be displayed.
That’s all, hope it helps.
