Notepad in Windows 11 has introduced an AI-Powered Text Rewrite Feature. Unfortunately, to access this feature, users are required to log in with their Microsoft account within the application.
Additionally, an important fact users should be aware of is that while the feature aims to enhance functionality, some users feel it is unnecessary for a basic text editor like Notepad.
Moreover, without a Microsoft 365 subscription, users are limited to just 15 credits per month. On the other hand, Microsoft 365 subscribers receive up to 60 credits monthly.
If you find this feature unnecessary, you can easily disable it.
Step 1. First, open the Notepad application.
Step 2. Next, navigate to Settings > AI Features > and disable the Rewrite option.
Once disabled, the Rewrite feature will no longer appear or function, and Notepad will revert to its original state before the feature was introduced.
While the feature is designed with good intentions, it is arguably unnecessary for a note-taking app that should prioritize speed and simplicity.
