How to Lock the Fn (Function) Key in Windows 11

The Fn key on the keyboard serves as a hidden modifier, enabling additional functions for the F1 to F12 keys. If you find these functions unnecessary, here are some simple methods to lock (or unlock) the Fn key in Windows 11.
On certain keyboards, the Esc key has a dual function, acting as an Fn (Function) lock button, often indicated by a small lock icon on the Esc key.
To lock the Fn key on such keyboards, press the Fn and Esc keys simultaneously. The lock icon will light up, signaling that the Fn key is now locked. To unlock it, simply press the Fn and Esc keys together again.
The BIOS menu on your PC allows you to adjust various system settings, including boot order, hardware configurations, and power management options. Here’s how you can use it to lock or unlock the Fn key:

Note: This method may not work if the Function Key Row section is unavailable in the Mobility Center.
