Microsoft has recently unveiled the startup boost feature, designed to load Microsoft Office applications in the background for faster launch times. This feature is expected to roll out to all supported Microsoft Office users by May 2025.

However, users must meet specific requirements to access this feature, including having at least 8 GB of RAM and 5 GB of storage space.

As shown in the image above, the startup boost option will be located under Options > General > Startup Boost. Notably, this feature will be optional and not enabled by default for all users.
In essence, the startup boost feature for Office is a Windows scheduled task designed to preload Office components. This task will automatically run when users log into the system. Consequently, a new entry will appear in the Task Scheduler, labeled Office Startup Boost and Office Startup Boost Logon, which are integral to this feature.
If the device is in power-saving mode, the feature will be disabled by default to conserve battery resources.
Additionally, as mentioned earlier, this feature will not be active by default, allowing users to configure it freely.
