Microsoft Shares Details on USB Configuration in Windows 11

In 2023, Microsoft introduced a dedicated USB 4 Settings Page in Windows 11 Insider Canary, enabling users to manage USB 4-based devices and hubs effectively. This update marked a significant step in enhancing user control over USB functionalities.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft provided further insights into these settings, helping users better understand their device capabilities. But what exactly do the various options on the USB page signify?

The latest Windows 11 version now includes all these options under Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > USB. It’s worth noting that not all features are available on every device. While connection notifications and battery-saving buttons should appear on all PCs, charging notifications are exclusive to devices supporting USB-C power delivery. Additionally, the USB4 Hubs and Devices section is only accessible on computers with USB4 compatibility.
Currently, USB 4 devices remain relatively scarce in the market, primarily due to their premium pricing. Have you experimented with USB 4 yet? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
