One of Proton’s services that I particularly enjoy, aside from VPN, is Drive. Similar to Google Drive and other cloud storage solutions, ProtonDrive offers a storage platform that is claimed to be more secure and private compared to other providers. However, what stands out for me is the Drive package, which offers larger storage capacity at a more affordable price compared to competitors. Regarding ProtonDrive, Proton recently announced an update to their application, making it now natively available for Windows on ARM.
With support for Windows on ARM, this update promises enhanced energy efficiency and performance. Additionally, it provides access to cloud synchronization, file backups, file sharing, offline access, and more, directly through the system’s File Explorer. This integration allows seamless collaboration within the Windows system without the need for a browser.

Moreover, Proton Drive on Windows now features Windows Cloud, enabling files to be stored in the cloud while being accessed locally (similar to OneDrive’s on-demand files). This feature allows users to browse all files stored in Proton Drive and download them locally only when needed.
As shown in the image above, users can now create links and collaborate on shared folders and files with others. This functionality facilitates file sharing for work purposes while maintaining the privacy of the shared content.
Lastly, Proton users can now receive email notifications about comments, replies, and new suggestions in shared documents. This feature simplifies tracking the history and progress of shared files.
