With PowerToys, Will App Downloads Become Faster?

In addition to introducing a feature that enables users to perform media file conversion, Microsoft appears to be rolling out another feature aimed at enhancing the application downloading experience on the Windows operating system.
So, folks, according to information shared by Microsoft a few days ago, they have pledged through the PowerToys app that the application downloading process will become significantly faster than before.

The core of this feature is that PowerToys will soon receive a new plugin, allowing users to download applications via a spotlight-like feature through Winget.

Instead of opening the terminal and typing the winget install appname command, users can simply type the app’s name in the spotlight-like feature within PowerToys and swiftly click install.

However, in my opinion, this approach still seems slower as it relies on Winget, and using the terminal feels quicker and more time-efficient. Moreover, downloading apps via PowerToys appears to require an extra click, which could potentially prolong the experience.
But when compared to downloading applications from the Microsoft Store, this new method via PowerToys will undoubtedly feel much faster.

Feature still under development!
It’s important to note that this feature is still in development, and its release date has not yet been confirmed. What do you think, guys? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
