Microsoft Edge to Limit RAM Usage During Gaming on Windows 11

A new feature is set to make a comeback in Microsoft Edge. In addition to the existing RAM limitation feature, users will soon have the ability to manage resources during gaming sessions on Windows 11.

As shown in the image above, within the Settings > Performance > and under Manage your performance, a new Resource Control option will appear with the selection When you’re PC gaming.
Users can also specify the desired resource limits for Microsoft Edge, ensuring that your device’s resources are primarily dedicated to the game you’re playing.

Choosing the lowest limitation option may result in slower performance for Microsoft Edge, with open tabs refreshing frequently to ensure resource usage stays within the set limits.

Essentially, this feature will be highly beneficial, particularly for users who frequently use Microsoft Edge while multitasking, especially in gaming scenarios.

Currently, this feature appears to be in the testing phase, as I haven’t been able to access it in the version of Microsoft Edge I’m using.
