For those of you who own a Microsoft account, especially if you’re still actively using Windows 10, you might have received an email about the approaching end of support for Windows 10, with various details regarding its discontinuation starting from October 14, 2025.
As we’re aware, over the past few years, Microsoft has been making efforts to convince users that Windows 11 is a superior OS compared to Windows 10, offering various incentives and recommendations to encourage the transition.
From full-screen notifications to OOBE notifications during Windows 10 installation, or even subtle ads integrated into various components of Windows 10 itself. Now, as shown in the image above, Microsoft has started sending emails to users to inform them about the upcoming end of support for Windows 10.
The email serves as a reminder that, once support for Windows 10 ends in October 2025, users will no longer receive critical updates or security patches. Since upgrading to Windows 11 isn’t an option for them, the implied suggestion in the email is to consider purchasing a new computer capable of running the latest OS. Essentially, the email subtly hints that users may need to replace or upgrade their existing Windows 10 PCs.
In the email, Microsoft also highlights why Windows 11 is more secure, explaining that it’s built with cutting-edge security features, including Antivirus, Firewall, and more, which are key advantages over Windows 10 or earlier versions.
Finally, Microsoft recommends backing up data to OneDrive if users plan to continue using their Windows 10 PCs.
This email is primarily targeted at Windows 10 users, but it’s likely that all active Microsoft account holders will receive it as well. Did you get this email? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
